Product Removal and Recycling
In with the new, out with the old! The purchase of new household items brings with it the challenge of removing the old ones. This can be difficult with bulky items such as large appliances that are heavy and awkward.
The Brick is pleased to offer product disposal options so you can start enjoying your new purchase as soon as possible. To offer you the best possible service, our removal services must be booked and in some cases paid for prior to your delivery.
Appliances
With our Premium Delivery Service, we will remove your old appliances on a one-for-one basis as part of our Appliance Plus+ Program. The first appliance on your order will be removed free and then a charge of $15.00 per appliance on any additional pieces requiring removal will be applied. Your appliances just need to be disconnected, empty, wiped down, clean and ready for safe removal by our delivery team.

Booking Appliance Removal
Appliance removal may be offered as a part of your Brick delivery service. This is dependent upon geographical area or markets across the country.
Simply do one of two things to make arrangements for appliance removal/recycling:
Make prior arrangements with us to ensure the Premium Delivery Service is available in your area. Contact us or your responsible store (shown on your invoice) 48 hours ahead of your scheduled delivery date and we will be happy to add this complimentary service for you.
If you are making a purchase online, just add the removal/recycling option for the item(s) you wish to have removed during the checkout process. Remember, we perform this service in major markets only and on a one-for-one basis. Eg. If you purchased a new washer for delivery and selected the removal option then we would remove only your old washer and not the washer & dryer. If you purchased a new washer & dryer, you may select none, one or two removal services depending on your needs.
Moving Appliances Around Your Home
At this time, moving appliances from one area of your home to another is not part of our service. Our Appliance Plus+ program includes removal and disposal only.
Disconnecting your Water, Gas or Electrical
Our delivery personnel are not licensed to disconnect gas, plumbing or electrical from your appliances. Should you require disconnections of this type, please contact our Installation and Assembly Team at 1‑888‑933‑8786 who will provide this service at a competitive rate.
Mattresses
With our Premium Delivery Service, we will remove your old mattress and or boxspring(s) on a one-for-one basis for a nominal charge. This is dependent upon geographical area or markets across the country. Because of health and safety requirements, each mattress or box spring must be bagged and sealed prior to the delivery team handling the items. This way we can dispose of these responsibly.

What does this service cost?
We provide responsible removal and recycling for $15 per piece (For example a queen mattress and boxspring - $30).
Where can I get disposal bags?
In store at the time of sale, your sales consultant will provide you with any bags required. For our online customers, the delivery team will be informed to bring mattress bags with them for you to bag your mattress / boxspring.
What if I bought my mattress set online?

Electronics
At this time The Brick does not offer removal of old electronics. You can drop them off at any of our distribution centres (excluding Manitoba) to be recycled or at your nearest eco centre (additional fees may apply).

Furniture
At this time The Brick does not currently offer removal of old furniture. However, if your old furniture is in good, usable condition, you may consider donating it to your local Habitat Restore. Habitat’s ReStores accept a wide range of gently used items, and the funds generated go towards supporting local Habitat building projects.
Contact your nearest ReStore to determine if what you have can be donated to your local store. Many charities, similar to Habitat, offer tax-deductible receipts for usable furniture still in good condition.
Moving Electronics and Furniture Around Your Home
Moving electronics and furniture from one area of your home to another is not part of our service. Should you need assistance, please contact a furniture moving company near you.
